Proloquo2 Cool!

proloquoAs the resident Tech Geek at my school, I was so excited when AssistiveWare released it’s new App for the iPhone & iTouch. The cooler thing was I had just gotten an iTouch for Christmas, so I was ready to try it with very out of pocket money.

After downloading it I began checking out the interface, options and personal settings. Within 10 minutes I had it all setup to use with one of my 3rd grade students who is non-verbal.

We had tried every AAC device there is…and he never wanted to use any of them, until I place the iTouch in his hands. He was mesmerized by the device. He quickly learned to say, “I want more candy.” Then we moved on to, “I want more M&Ms” and “I want 3 blue M&Ms.” Nothing works better than a little chocolate!

The Proloquo2go released in early spring 2009 and for a price of $189 at the iTunes Apps Store – it’s a bargain – even for a school budget. Don’t forget the iTouch.
